The Municipality of Gelence hosted on 9 December 2021 an event promoted by the Romanian Government's Department for Sustainable Development and the Angustia Association on the theme of sustainable community. The aim of the meeting was to raise awareness on the use of renewable resources, sustainable and relevant heating solutions. It was also discussed how to involve local communities in this transition. László Borbély, State Counsellor and Coordinator of the Department for Sustainable Development, István Ráduly, Prefect of Covasna County, representatives of the French Embassy in Romania and other stakeholders were present. The event also included the inauguration of the new biomass heating centre of the Gelence kindergarten.
